Rugby League fans have spoken and Blake Austin of Leeds Rhinos has been named Glen's Vodka Super League Player of the Month for June.
The coveted award to recognise the competition's form player is being decided for the first time in 2023 through the votes of supporters on the Our League app.
After a huge response when the six candidates were revealed last week, the Rhinos half-back has come out on top as Junes Glen's Vodka Player of the Month.
The 32-year-old has been Rohan Smiths in-form player in recent weeks, winning back-to-back player of the match awards in the Rhinos victories over Huddersfield Giants and Warrington Wolves.
Leeds bounced back from their shock 24-14 defeat to Wakefield Trinity at Belle Vue by hammering Huddersfield Giants 54-0 at Headingly Stadium, with the Round 16 fixture dedicated to Rob Burrow and MND awareness. This was followed up with a 22-6 win at the Halliwell Jones Stadium to take the Rhinos within two points of the top six.
The battle for who will follow Austin as Glen's Vodka Player of the Month for July has already begun. Last weekends Round 18 matches were the first to count with dramatic victories for Wakefield Trinity, Hull FC, St Helens, Huddersfield Giants and the Rhinos again. Round 19 begins on Thursday (July 13) when St Helens face Catalan Dragons at the Totally Wicked Stadium live on Sky Sports (KO 8pm.) The shortlist will be announced at the end of the month.
